Thirty-eight enthusiastic year 12 physics students and teachers from a network of schools spent the day at Hawkesdale P12 today with Dr. Trevor Gooley from Ballarat University, School of Science and Engineering. Lectures, demonstrations, theory activities and real life scenarios filled the action packed program. Interest level was very high and there were a lot of questions answered. Our library floor was even put to the test with a demonstration of breaking a reinforced concrete post. It took 160kgs of weight to bend and finally break the post. See the photo below.
